Online Safety
E-Safety has been at the forefront of our Computing learning in Term 1 at Aylesford. With the increase in technology usage during the pandemic, we deemed it essential for our children to know and understand the risks of being online and how to be safe whilst using the internet.
We follow the National Curriculum which is supported by our scheme for Computing (Purple Mash) and this has provided coverage all aspects of online safety, whether it is how to log in safely in Year 1 or how companies use personal information in Year 6.
From speaking to pupils, it is clear that they now have a greater understanding of how to stay safe whilst online and are confident in what to do and who to tell when they feel uncomfortable with something on the internet. As a school, we use the acronym SMART to ensure all children are aware of how to be safe online, shown in the picture.
