Wonderful letter from RBLI
I would like to thank Valley Invicta Primary School at Aylesford for inviting us to the Year 6 assembly. It has been a wonderful experience for the veterans over the last few months with the intergenerational integration.
With the children visiting, they have written biographies with some of the Vets, in return the children have learnt about the respect when raising the Union Jack flag, and they now know how to salute and march taught to them by the veterans.
We would especially like to thank Mrs Burton and Miss Adams for organising the project and for bringing the children to the Mountbatten Pavilion each week.
Last but not least, the very special element that I think they are totally aware of is that they have provided lasting therapy for our veterans with PTSD. Coming to visit has really helped our vets and for that we thank the children for their laughter and friendship. The guys really look forward to Tuesdays, getting excited when they know they are coming.
For this we thank you and hope the relationship between RBLI and Aylesford Primary School will continue for years to come.
